Monica Arellano joined Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) in April 2018. She currently is a Staff Attorney on a team who works to prevent homelessness through Measure H funding. Monica previously worked at the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice (LACLJ) as a Staff Attorney assisting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in their immigration matters. Before LACLJ, Monica was a post-bar fellow at the Riverside County Public Defender’s office. Before becoming an attorney, she worked as a paralegal at Inner City Law Center assisting with habitability litigation cases and unlawful detainer cases. Monica received a BA in History and Chican@ Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a JD from Southwestern University School of Law.
